Our paper has been published, marking a milestone for work package 5. In this paper, we aimed to investigate the characteristics of zero-flow events in intermittent rivers. Regarding the temporal variability of non-flow events, we concluded that they mainly occur in August. Both long-term and short-term quantification of non-flow events should be considered to align with water use requirements. Future research should prioritize exploring hydrology and hydroecology in relation to river flow regimes and their interactions with ecosystems. By doing this, we can enhance our understanding of the significance of intermittent rivers, their ecosystem functions, and their importance in a broader management context.
